“Wait, I say, on the LORD!”

The topic is taken from Psalm 27:14 (KJV) where David says, “Wait, I say, on the LORD.”  One of the disciplines in living the Christian is waiting on the Lord. Waiting on the Lord means allowing Him to act and provide answers to our prayers. It requires patience, hope, courage, and trust in the God of the Scriptures. It is also a test of our obedience, faith, and confidence in Almighty God. Patience is an essential component of Christian living. The writer to the Hebrews exhorts believers: “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of […]

How Glad Are You?

The word glad is a beautiful word. It means to be delighted and to be pleased with joy. In Psalm 32:11 King David exhorts us, “Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.”

What is your number one priority?

People in general have priorities in life. In doing so, they give more attention to certain things more than other things. And that can be understood. However, it begs the question; what place does God take in the order of your priorities?  For the Christian, God is the number one priority in life. Anyone or anything that comes before God is an idol. God makes it clear, “You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3). The Scripture also states that God “is a jealous God” (Exodus 34:14), and rightly so because He has declared of himself: “I am the LORD; that is my […]

“The Blessed Man”

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1,2).  This first Psalm brings before us two directions in life. One is the right way, and the other is the wrong way. Choosing the right way will lead to contentment and satisfaction. Choosing the wrong way leads to despair, hopelessness and unhappiness. These directions in life are squarely based on the choices people […]

What is meant by saying “AMEN”

Amen is frequently said by Christian congregations or individuals at the conclusion of prayers, creeds, blessings, hymns or “formal” expressions about God and His Word. Amen is also used to express approval or agreement to what has been said. The primary meaning of Amen is “so let it be” or “so be it.”  In Matthew 6:9-13 our Lord Jesus concluded His well-loved prayer He taught His disciples (called The Lord’s Prayer) with Amen. “For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.” Amen has a very significant and deep spiritual meaning for Christians. Christians find great joy and delight in […]

“Yours, O LORD, is the Greatness!”

The Bible begins with God, and His greatness is revealed throughout the Bible. Everything we need to know about God is in the Bible. So great is God that the Bible does not begin with any arguments or debates about His existence. God is the Supreme Creator of the universe, which He spoke into existence. The Bible says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, […]

Christian or non-christian. What are you?

People can be classified under two main headings: a) Christian, and b) non-christian.  Christians are  followers of Jesus Christ because they have received the free Gift of God’s Salvation. Non-christians are not followers of Jesus Christ. But they can become. The Bible says. “For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:22,23). This situation is the result of Adam, the first man God created and placed in the Garden of Eden. And God told Adam, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you […]

A Life without God and Hope? Not for me!

I have chosen this title for something I hold most precious and dear to myself. I cannot ever think or imagine living my life without God and hope in a godless, immoral, corrupt, untrustworthy, and materialistic world. Materialistic means to be excessively concerned with material possessions and money-oriented. Far too much emphasis is put on things that are seen, can be touched and handled rather than the spiritual realities of God. The Bible refers to these people as “Having no hope and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). Having been raised by godly parents in a Christian home, I realized from an early […]

My Greatest Feeling In Life!

God has spared the physical life He gave me from my mother’s womb until this present time in the 21st century.  By God’s grace, I have been a “born-again” Christian for decades, and with absolutely no regrets. Having been raised in a Christian home provided the “springboard” for me to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).    Therefore, I can truly identify with the Apostle Paul when he told Timothy “and how from childhood you have been acquainted with […]

The Cross – Victory or Defeat?

Without any doubt whatsoever, the Cross upon which the Lord Jesus Christ died is definitely a symbol of significant victory for all Christians. It is by no means a defeat. Jesus’ death was absolutely essential to God’s plan to reconcile sinful humanity to Himself. Therefore, the death of Christ on the Cross means that the power of sin and Satan — the arch-enemy of Christians, have been defeated.  The Bible says: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. […]
