A Life without God and Hope? Not for me!

I have chosen this title for something I hold most precious and dear to myself. I cannot ever think or imagine living my life without God and hope in a godless, immoral, corrupt, untrustworthy, and materialistic world. Materialistic means to be excessively concerned with material possessions and money-oriented. Far too much emphasis is put on things that are seen, can be touched and handled rather than the spiritual realities of God. The Bible refers to these people as “Having no hope and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). Having been raised by godly parents in a Christian home, I realized from an early […]

My Greatest Feeling In Life!

God has spared the physical life He gave me from my mother’s womb until this present time in the 21st century.  By God’s grace, I have been a “born-again” Christian for decades, and with absolutely no regrets. Having been raised in a Christian home provided the “springboard” for me to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).    Therefore, I can truly identify with the Apostle Paul when he told Timothy “and how from childhood you have been acquainted with […]

The Cross – Victory or Defeat?

Without any doubt whatsoever, the Cross upon which the Lord Jesus Christ died is definitely a symbol of significant victory for all Christians. It is by no means a defeat. Jesus’ death was absolutely essential to God’s plan to reconcile sinful humanity to Himself. Therefore, the death of Christ on the Cross means that the power of sin and Satan — the arch-enemy of Christians, have been defeated.  The Bible says: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. […]

The great “I am the LORD!”

“I am the LORD, and there is no other, beside me there is no God” (Isaiah 45:5). This is God’s declaration of Himself. He is the incomparable, self-existent, Almighty God who alone has unlimited power and authority “who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). God is omnipotent, meaning He is all-powerful. God said to Abraham: “Is anything too hard for the LORD? (Genesis 18:14). The prophet Jeremiah responds: “Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you” (Jeremiah 32:17). […]

“IT IS ENOUGH!”

What more does a believer want or desire after trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior? Absolutely nothing more! Jesus Christ saves, keeps and satisfies.  The Bible teaches “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).  When Christ died on the Cross, He said: “It is finished.” This meant His shed blood was enough to meet man’s spiritual needs in order to be reconciled to God.  The writer to the Hebrews says: “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat […]

Not neglecting to meet together

Christians are exhorted not to neglect meeting together in a place of worship. And there are very sound reasons for this. The Bible says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24,25). The believers relationship with Christ, makes us members of His body. Paul writing to the Corinthian Church says, “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27). Therefore, shouldn’t we come […]

Is there more to life than it appears to be?

Lots more! If you were to randomly ask different people what’s their opinion of life; very likely you would get different views. This is because, as humans, we are individually different—we think differently, and act differently. Besides, each person is entitled to his or her personal opinion.  However, no matter how we may act or think, there are certain things we cannot change (though some would like to). And this will remain until “death do us part.” For example, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west every day. There are 24 hours in a day, 7 […]

Why the Psalms?

The Psalms, the 19th Book of Old Testament Scriptures, is of special significance. Thirty-nine books make up the Old Testament, and the Psalms falls in the center. A psalm is a sacred poem or song used in Christian and Jewish worship. The book of Psalms is also called the Psalter.  With 150 chapters, Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the entire Bible. The 117th Psalm is the shortest Psalm and also the shortest chapter in the Bible; consisting of only two short verses, The theme is universal praise of God Almighty. Many of the 150 chapters of the Psalms were […]

The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is foundational to Christian faith. And it is celebrated worldwide by Christians as a most joyous occasion. If there had been no resurrection of Christ from the dead, there would be no forgiveness of sins`.  On the Sunday following Good Friday, Mary Magdalene and others visited the tomb where Jesus was buried. While there, an angel said to them “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and […]

“Seeking the Lord!”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:11-13). This is a command to God’s people. In the Christian experience, it is possible that we can become a bit weary in well-doing due to various things. Or, perhaps we need a greater  awareness of the reality of God’s presence in our lives. […]
