As a “born again” believer in the Lord Jesus Christ for many years, and a member of the Christian community, I am shocked, saddened, and appalled at what is happening today in the Christian community. Never before has one seen such rampant dishonesty, avarice, excess, greed, and corruption in the Church of Jesus Christ “which He purchased with His own blood” (Acts 20:28). What is “conscience?” The dictionary defines conscience as “the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motive, impelling one toward right action.” Conscience has to do with the mind and inner most thoughts of a person. We are living a day and age of immorality, rebellion, and apostasy. The term apostasy is from the greek word ‘apostasia’, meaning abandonment, renunciation, or departure. In the spiritual application, apostasy is rebellion or a falling away from the Christian faith. This biblical statement from God to Ezekiel, the priest, is as true today as it was when God said it. When the Lord Jesus Christ saves people, it is not just for the moment. Rather, it is with an “eternal purpose” in view. Christians are saved for time and for eternity.
