Are You A Sheep?

All born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are “sheep.”  In His reference to believers, Jesus said: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one” (John 10:27-30). Obviously, Jesus was not referring to sheep, as the animal. Jesus also referred to Himself as “the […]

Memo to Self

Have you ever thought about writing a memo to yourself? Not just any memo but a spiritually inspired memo to check upon yourself to ascertain how well you are running the Christian race. In his letter to the Church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul writes, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test” (2 Corinthians 13:5). The content of this letter was applicable to the Church then in Paul’s day as it is also applicable […]

“He Was Made Sin” . . .

On the Cross of Calvary, the Lord Jesus Christ took the sins and iniquities of the world upon Himself, bearing them in His own body, in order that we would not have to bear the penalty of our own transgressions. The message of the Cross is that Jesus was “made sin for us.”.The Bible says, “For our sake [God] made [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might  become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21). All our sins were laid on Him—Jesus bore them on the Cross. God who knew all about our sins, […]

Becoming a Christian

What does it mean to become a Christian? First of all, you need to fully realize that God loves you. And His desire is for youth  have a personal relationship with Him through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible declares that without exception, “All have have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is is a universal problem as the scripture points out: “None is righteous, no not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one” (Romans […]

Why Christmas?

What is the meaning of Christmas? Why do Christians celebrate this annual event? Some may ask. And we born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have the answer. Christmas is a most joyful occasion for Christians around the world to observe and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The birth of Jesus is an announcement of God’s plan of salvation for humanity. The celebration of Christmas goes back over 2,000 years ago when an angel announced: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke […]

Accepted in Christ

What does it mean to be “accepted in Christ?” Those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior have much to rejoice about. As believers, we belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the King of kings and Lord of lords. We are on our way to heaven where Jesus is now seated at God’s right hand after He shed His blood and died for our sins. He was raised from the dead, and at the appointed time he ascended to His Father.  Accepted in Christ means we are “eternally secured” in Him. Has He […]

One Sacrifice For Sin

The Bible declares, “There no longer remains a sacrifice for sin” (Hebrews 10:26). At the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, He uttered these words, ”It is finished” (John 19:30). This indicates the absolute completeness of our Savior’s work on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus did all that was necessary to make an atonement for the sins of mankind. The writer to the Hebrews said, “And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for […]

Biblical Reconciliation

The word translated “reconcile” from the Greek means “to change thoroughly,” and is used several times by the Apostle Paul in his epistles. Reconciliation between sinful, wicked mankind and Holy God was accomplished on the Cross by our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul tells us , “God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself” (2 Corinthians 5:19).     Ever since the “fall” of man because of his disobedience, man has continued in sinful rebellion against the Most High God, thus sinful man became “an enemy” of God. However, because a merciful God has shown mercy where judgment was well […]

God’s House

The Christian Church is neither a building of any kind, nor a denomination. Unfortunately, to many, the Church is a building where people go to worship and praise God. So then, exactly what is the Church? The word Church is the English translation of the Greek “ekklesia” meaning a “called out ones” or an “assembly” (of people). The Holy Scriptures refer to the Church as the “body of Christ” over which He is the Head. The Apostle Paul writes that God “put all things in subjection under His [Christ’s] feet and gave Him as head over all things to the […]

Creation

It’s early Tuesday morning, the first day of August, 2017. The sun is up with a few fair weather cloud in the azure blue cloudless sky. I am sitting by the window of my home-office with a light, cool breeze gently making contact with my smiling face. As I look out and up, I can see the huge shade trees forming a canopy over the walk-ways and grassy surfaces surrounding the sitting areas of my apartment complex. As my eyes begin to wonder beyond the complex and I observe people walking up and down the street going about their business, […]
