The Bible states, “But be doers of the word, and not hears only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22).  It is absolutely essential for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to put in practice the teachings of God’s Holy Word. “The LORD is my Shepherd” is the beginning of the popular and well-known 23rd Psalm. And it signifies a deeply personal relationship where God knows His sheep by their name and provides for their well-being, comfort, and happiness. This Psalm  was written by King David. “The Persistent Widow”

During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ told a parable to His disciples about an encounter with a judge “who did not fear God nor regard man,” and a widow who consistently came to him asking, “get justice for me from my adversary.”  This parable is found in Luke 18:1-8, and it teaches a lot about the Christian and prayer.  Hence, Jesus is instructing us to “pray and not lose heart.” Some Christians are discouraged to “persevere in prayer” when the answers don’t seem to be coming as they expect.
