“Our Majestic God”

The majesty of God is one of many great attributes of God’s essential being.  There aught to be a heartfelt recognition of this in Christian living. How else can our Sovereign God be preeminent and get the honor and glory that He is completely worthy of?   Majesty is defined as “sovereign power, authority or dignity.” (Merriam-Webster dictionary). People, in general, have various concepts of God. The Bible tells us everything God wants us to know about Him.  Someone rightly expressed that “christian worship rises or falls on our concept of God.”  Worship is love, reverence, adoration, honor, and respect for God.  When we think […]

The Pre-existence of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Does the Bible mention that the Lord Jesus Christ actually existed prior to His human birth? And, is there sufficient evidence in both the Old and New Testament Scriptures to support this view? Let’s read on. The fourth Gospel by John clearly states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not made anything made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:1-3,14).  Doesn’t this sound very familiar […]

“Can I Lose My Salvation?”

Is it possible for a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, lose his salvation? Absolutely not, according to the Scriptures. As a result of Christ’s atoning work on the cross for salvation, believers made complete in Him. The Bible says: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority” (Colossians 2:9, 10).  True believers in Christ are saved, sanctified, and sealed. The word “sanctified” means to be “set apart by God for His holy […]

“Is Church Attendance a Good Thing?”

The Bible declares this about church attendance: “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24, 25 NIV). “Church attendance is not just a “good suggestion”; it is God’s will for believers. Hebrews 10:25 says we should “not [be] giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” […]

“The Significance of Prayer”

How many recognize the significance of prayer in both our individual lives and in the Christian church as well? It is a strong possibility that failure to consistently spend quality time at God’s “Throne of Grace” will result in “spiritual bankruptcy” at times.   Essentially, prayer is the vital link between Almighty God and His children. The activity of prayer must be “a way of life” for the individual believer and the Christian church as a whole. Remember, individual saints make up the church of God.  The Scripture says: “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). […]

“The Greatest Of Books!”

Thousands, or perhaps millions, of books have been written by various authors over many years. The primary reason why we read books is to gain knowledge and obtain information. Reading engages the mind, reduces stress, and even alleviates depression.  All these are positive reasons to read books. However, there is one book that excels all other books and that book is the Holy Bible. The Bible is a book of truth, wisdom, knowledge, spiritual growth and guidance. It is also called the the Scriptures or God’s Word because it is inspired by God and it tells us that “All Scripture is […]

HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD!

God’s glory and man’s dominion. Psalm 8 (NIV). A Psalm of King David. 1  O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. 2  From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the foe and the avenger. 3  When I consider your heavens the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4  What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 5  You made him a little […]

“Is compassion essential for living?”

Compassion means demonstrating empathy, concern, kindness, and caring toward others and willingness to help them.  In its more commonly used sense, compassion has been defined as “sympathetic pity and concern for the suffering or misfortunes of others.”  God is the God of compassion. The Scripture describes the extent of God’s compassion in this way: “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin” (Exodus 34:6,7 NIV).  Compassion incorporates love, thoughtfulness, gentleness, tenderness, commitment, and mercy. The prophet Jeremiah wrote this about God’s compassion: […]

Jesus Christ the Son of God!

“Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). The Bible says that this “is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance” because the message emphasizes that no one is beyond redemption and that salvation is a free gift of grace rather than earned merit. It all began with Adam, God’s first created human being, and whom God placed in a sinless environment. God also gave Adam specific instructions on what he could and could not do.  Adam disobeyed God, and as a result, sin came into the world. The Bible points out ”Just as sin came […]
