The Pre-eminence of Christ
The theme of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Colossian Church is “the pre-eminence of the Lord Jesus Christ.” The word pre-eminence means “surpassing all others” That is, superiority. Paul identifies seven characteristics of Christ to substantiate His pre-eminence, which he identifies and lists in Colossians 1:15-20.
