My Prayer

Our gracious God and Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. We come before your Throne of Grace where we can obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. With worshipful hearts we bow before you to give you thanks and praise for the privilege of drawing near, knowing that you have promised to draw near when we draw near to you. We thank you for your faithfulness inspite of our unfaithfulness and disobedience at times.

Almighty God and most merciful Father, we admit and confess our sins, having strayed  from your ways by following the devices and desires of our hearts. We humbly ask your forgiveness, as we have the assurance in your word that if we confess our sins you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, have mercy on us, we beseech you, O God.

We must acknowledge your goodness and your ways, which are past finding out. Your love is as great as your power, and you know neither measure nor end.

We also know that you move in great and mysterious ways, your wonders to perform. Help us therefore not to lean to our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge the Lord, and you will direct our paths. May your sovereign will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

You have assured us in your word that goodness and mercy will surely follow us all the days of our lives. And in your House for evermore, our dwelling place will be.

Grant, our God and Father, that in all things you will have the preeminence in our hearts and  lives because you are the Potter, and we are the clay. Therefore, break us, melt, mold us, fill us, and use us for your honor and glory.

We depend on you to give us wisdom, knowledge, understanding, discernment, discretion, insight, and foresight, which we need to confront various issues from day to day.

Teach us your way, O God, and guide us in paths of righteousness by your Holy Spirit. And help us to live more by faith and less by sight until the journey is over and the Crown is won. May we run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Our desire is to experience the joys of our salvation by living a godly, righteous, and sober life. Help us to keep on keeping on—not becoming weary in well doing for in due season we will reap if we do not faint. We are pilgrims passing through this barren land. Guide us with your powerful hand.

May it please you, Almighty God, to grant the petitions we bring before you. We have the assurance that there will be showers of blessing if we trust and obey. There will also be refreshing seasons, when we allow you to have your way,

And now to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, both now and forever. Amen.
