Great Savior; Wonderful Lord

One of the many glorious things about our salvation is that we have a great Savior and a wonderful Lord, who saves, keeps, and satisfies. And who “is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).  Because “sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned” (Romans 5:12); it was therefore necessary for a remedy; so that man could be reconciled to God and be at peace with Him.  God in His grace […]

When God Forgives . . .

The Scripture plainly states:  “If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1John 1:6-9).  Only God has the divine authority to […]

Be Still, and Know . . .

The 46th Psalm begins: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling” (Psalm 46:1-3). This Psalm is telling us the omni-present God is with us as a refuge and strength. And His presence is guaranteed no matter the circumstance. King David said, “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” (Psalm 145:18). “A mighty fortress is […]

Saved and Lost? Impossible!

Once a person is saved, that is, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, that person is saved for time and eternity. Born again believers cannot lose their salvation, according to the Scriptures. A person’s salvation in Jesus Christ is not a temporary situation, but absolutely eternal. This is well supported by Biblical evidence.  John 3:16,17 is a well known Biblical text, and by which many have come to receive Jesus as Savior. It shows the extent of God’s love for sinful mankind. A person must accept what God has done in order to have eternal life. There is no other way. Here […]

The Significance of Easter

The death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is foundational to the Christian faith. On Easter or Easter Sunday, the Christian Church commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ the third day after His death. Christ’s resurrection is the most important event in Christianity because He triumphed over death and the grave. The word Easter does not appear in authentic translations of the Scriptures. The Apostle Paul says, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in […]

Why Easter?

The Friday before Easter Sunday is called Good Friday, on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated by Christians worldwide. Holy Week or Passion Week is the week preceding Easter. This year (2022) Holy Week begins April 10 and ends April 16. On Sunday April 17 is Easter when Christians celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. Holy Week begins with events that led to Christ’s Crucifixion. “Palm Sunday,” commemorates Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem when the crowds spread their blankets and palm branches on the way as the Lord made His entrance into the […]

Who is Jesus Christ?

The Bible presents the vicarious sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who suffered, bled, and died on a Roman Cross for sins of mankind. “Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with […]

“Born Again” for sure!

Have you been born again? This is a most important question anyone is asked, and requires a specific yes or no answer. The necessity to be born again is a result of the incapacity of the natural person (the way we were born) to enter the kingdom of God. It doesn’t matter how  morally upright a person may be, that person is absolutely helpless and powerless to either enter God’s heaven or to please God in any way.  To be born again doesn’t mean reformation of the old corrupt nature every human being is born with. The Bible says, “Behold I was brought forth […]

“Wait, I say, on the LORD!”

One of the disciplines in living the Christian is waiting on the Lord. Waiting on the Lord means allowing Him to act and provide answers to our prayers. It requires patience, hope, courage, and trust in the God of the Scriptures. It is also a test of our obedience, faith, and confidence in Almighty God. Patience is an essential component of Christian living. The writer to the Hebrews exhorts believers: “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised” (Hebrews 10:36). The KJV of the Bible uses patience instead of endurance.  […]

Does God Exist?

God does exist. The evidence of God’s existence is all around us. The Bible says this about God. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Faith believes that God exists. “The essence of faith consists in believing and receiving what God has revealed, and may be defined as that trust in the God of the Scriptures. And in Jesus Christ whom He has sent, which receives Him as Lord and Savior and impels to loving obedience and good […]
