“THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD!”

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge” (Psalm 19:1,2).

Thus begins this beautiful declaration of Psalm 19 by King David that displays the universe as a revelation of the greatness, power, wisdom, and Deity of Almighty God.

The following is an adaptation  and not the actual Psalm 19:1-14 we read of in the holy Scriptures.

“The heavens announce the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims His creativity. And by looking up into the heavens we can know for certain there is a God and we can also perceive His eternal power.

Brilliant sunshine articulates its sounds, and knowledge comes night after night.

The Supreme Creator of the Universe is in evidence here, and His creativity is revealed in all nations around the world. “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

The Almighty’s invisible attributes, eternal power, and divine nature can be easily perceived by the senses and sight with an “upward look” at the heavens.

The statements of the Lord are sound — great joy and delight for all who obey them.

His principles are good and justified. The reverential trust in the LORD will last forever.

His ordinances and decrees are just and morally upright. They are more satisfying than the best offerings of this world.

They meet the intense longings of each heart.

Let me not take for granted any ideas or opinions without spiritual discernment of truth and usefulness to make me obey its passions; so that I will be innocent of wrongdoing.

Finally, may my speech of praise, thanksgiving, and purified thoughts from a worshipful heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
